The way of the camera
Podcast description
The Way of the Camera is a podcast that explores how photography can serve us as a mindfulness practice and a means of self-discovery.
Photography can help us live more intentionally, create work that matters, and find calm in the simple act of seeing. It is more than an art form: It is a way to connect deeply with the present moment, reflect on our inner selves, and find clarity and calm through a visual journey.
In this podcast, I share personal stories and reflections on how the camera became a means for mental well-being, practicing mindfulness and tool for self-discovery and personal development.
Through personal stories I would like to encourage you to slow down and connect more deeply with your inner self and the world around you.
Together, we explore ways to cultivate a mindful approach to photography and life, so that we can live in the present moment and discover ease, joy and fulfillment in our personal and professional journeys.
Bio
Ingo Hampe is a contemplative photographer who explores the intersection of photography, presence, and personal growth. Born in Hannover and now based in London, he has been exploring the world through the lens since receiving his first camera at the age of 14.
What began as a teenage fascination quickly evolved into a lifelong practice of seeing deeply, intentionally, and with heart. Over the years, the camera has been a quiet companion through his life’s transitions, travels, and inner transformations. From street scenes and model photography to still moments, his work captures the beauty in the ordinary and the clarity that comes from slowing down.
The podcast invites listeners to explore photography not just as a creative outlet, but as a way of being. One that fosters self-discovery, presence and kindness. Ingo Hampe encourages others to use the camera as a mirror for the soul and a compass for navigating life with authenticity and relatedness.
